How is the Jackson County Corrections in Florida as far as how tough it is with other inmates?

How is the Jackson County Corrections in Florida as far as how tough it is with other inmates? Are there a lot of fights? My nephew is there and I'm in Boston so seeing him is not an option. I just want to know if he'll be OK. I know that'll be up to him but I'm worried about other inmates taking advantage of others. Thank you.

We do not have any first-hand accounts of this facility but it is a decent sized place and by the online description, there are a lot of correctional officers on duty. This means that they have a big budget which makes the treatment much better for inmates. There are no reports of heavy gang activity which rises the level of anxiety and bad behavior exponentially. But, let's face it, this is prison and he will have to behave himself and not look for trouble. If he is the type to keep to himself, not be a follower, then he will be fine. We recommend that he get into a tight daily regime including exercise and self-improvement. We recommend following whatever programs his counselor recommends to show that he had bought into his reentry success. This bodes well on a number of fronts. We recommend lots of reading, it allows the inmate to have quality "alone time" getting lost (or escaping) through books, magazines and newspapers.
