How does the work release program work? Does someone need to pick the person up at the prison and take them to work?

Work release allows selected inmates to work at paid employment in the community during the last months of their confinement. Inmates must return to the Department's custody at the end of each workday. Their transportation is often provided, if they are not providing transportation then the "ride" would have to be approved.
