How can I send a package of books? I tried sending it to the jail and it came back in the mail as "refused."

Books are allowed in prison and jail but they are not accepted from an individual. They must be sent in through a publisher. InmateAid has partnered with the world's largest bookseller, Amazon.com. Virtually every detention center, jail or prison will accept and deliver books to your inmate when they come from Amazon. When you are purchasing, make sure that you buy NEW paperback books and are not buying used books or books from an Amazon re-seller. Sometimes, you can find a better price from their resellers, but be mindful that the used books are not being shipped by the "publisher". You can normally send three books at a time. It never hurts to call the facility first to make sure that all of their individual rules are considered.
