Any books or magazines not received directly from the publisher will be rejected and not delivered to the inmate. The Arizona DOC Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR)-Eyman-Rynning stands as a modern, maximum-security state prison facility among the five state-operated penitentiaries within the Eyman complex. Notably, the Rynning Unit offers contact visitations on Saturdays and Sundays from 8 am to 12 pm and again from 12 pm to 4 pm. Visitors must sign in before 10 am for the first block and before 2 pm for the second block to ensure entry. Additionally, non-contact visits are available on Fridays for building 3 from 8 am to 10 am, 11 am to 1 pm, and 1:45 pm to 3:45 pm, while buildings 4, 5, 6, and 7 offer non-contact visits on Tuesdays from 8 am to 10 am and again from 11 am to 1 pm. It's imperative to schedule non-contact visitations at least 24 hours in advance by calling 520-868-8524.
Regarding work opportunities, the facility offers a range of options through Arizona Correctional Industries (ACI), encompassing the production of Arizona State License Plates, Bakery goods for all of ADCRR, Metal Fabrication, Wood manufacturing for office furniture, and Powder Coating for paint. Moreover, Intergovernmental Agreement assignments include roles in Wildland Fire Crew, Healthy Forest Initiative, and Abatement Crew. Onsite work crews handle critical tasks such as food service, landscaping, building maintenance, paint crews, floor crews, kitchen sanitation, and general labor for facility upkeep.
Education is prioritized at ADCRR-Eyman-Rynning, with many residents pursuing their General Equivalency Diploma (GED) during their incarceration. Additional educational programs include Mandated Adult Education, Special Education (SPED), and the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE). Work-Based Education (WBE) programs, conducted in partnership with Central Arizona College, offer certifications in Welding, Building Construction Technology, Industrial Food Prep, and Heating/AC Refrigeration, enabling residents to develop valuable vocational skills. Furthermore, residents can continue their education through self-study programs via Education Television (ETV) or by utilizing tablets in collaboration with Ashland University.
Treatment and self-improvement programs are integral components of the rehabilitation process at ADCRR-Eyman-Rynning. Led by qualified therapists, initiatives like the Social Accountability Guidance and Education Program (S.A.G.E) and the Recovery Support Specialist (R.S.S.) provide essential guidance and support. The Resource Employment Development (R.E.D.) program, a partnership between the Arizona Department of Economic Security (DES) and ADCRR, offers comprehensive services to residents nearing release from prison, focusing on reducing recidivism. Additionally, support groups such as Narcotics Anonymous (NA) and Alcoholics Anonymous (AA), available in English and Spanish and led by outside volunteers, offer crucial peer support. Furthermore, programs like Courage to Change, Reentry, Changing Offender Behavior, Cultural Diversity, and Cognitive Restructuring, led by a Program COIII, prepare residents for successful reintegration into society by imparting a variety of life skills.
