Located in Falfurrias, TX, BCDC operates as a private contractor with various government agency agreements providing state-minimum custody requirements. Programs are offered to all custody levels, including work release residents focused on reentry success. With a strong emphasis on rehabilitation, BCDC provides comprehensive educational and vocational opportunities. The BCDC, constructed in 2001 by LCS Corrections Services, Inc., is a multi-use facility with a capacity to accommodate 652 inmates. Following GEO Group's conversion to a real estate investment trust (REIT), the operational services for GEO facilities, including the Brooks County Detention Center, are provided by its Corrections and Detention operating division, now organized as an LLC.

The facility primarily houses inmates for the U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) and offers various amenities, including medical observation rooms, housing buildings, a newly constructed kitchen and dining building, as well as a maintenance shop.
