The Collier Co Jail is a detention center located at 3301 Tamiami Tr E Naples, FL which is operated locally by the Collier County Sheriff's Office and holds inmates awaiting trial or sentencing or both. Most of the sentenced inmates are here for less than two years. Collier County accepts inmates from surrounding towns, Naples Police Department, and the US Marshal's Service.

New detainees arrive at the jail regularly, with some being released on bail, placed under pretrial services caseloads, supervised by probation agencies, or released on recognizance with a court appearance agreement. Those who are not released await their court appearances at the jail, receiving accommodations including bedding and meals.

The Collier County Sheriff’s Office is dedicated to equipping its inmates with the necessary educational and vocational tools to facilitate their success upon release. By reducing recidivism, the office aims to create a safer community and save tax dollars. The mission of the Inmate Programs is to manage offenders effectively while providing opportunities for positive change. Inmates arrested in Naples may be housed in the Immokalee Jail Center, and vice versa, with housing assignments based on individual needs rather than proximity to their homes.

Inmates who do not bond out are housed in the least restrictive and safest units possible, based on the required level of security. The Pretrial Supervision program allows eligible inmates, as ordered by the judiciary, to be released from custody as a condition of bond or without paying monetary bail, provided they comply with all court-ordered conditions of release imposed during their first appearance.

The Collier County Sheriff’s Office offers various programs to its inmate population, aiming to provide valuable skills and support for their reintegration into society:

  • Cell Dog Program: A mandatory curriculum that teaches inmates valuable skills through the care and training of dogs.
  • Project Recovery: A program designed to aid in the recovery process, focusing on substance abuse and personal development.
  • GED Programs: Educational classes that help inmates achieve their General Educational Development (GED) certification.
  • Culinary Arts: A vocational program that imparts culinary skills, preparing inmates for employment in the food service industry.
  • AA/NA Meetings: Regular meetings for Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous to support inmates in their recovery journeys.
  • Mental Health Classes: Courses that address mental health issues and promote well-being.
  • One-on-One Counseling: Personalized counseling sessions to address individual inmate needs and concerns.
  • Healthcare Lectures: Educational sessions on various health-related topics to promote physical well-being.
  • Religious Activities and Classes: Opportunities for spiritual growth and religious education.

The Weekend Work Program allows court-ordered individuals to maintain their employment and family interactions while serving their sentences. Participants engage in community-based projects for approved 501(c)(3) non-profit and governmental organizations. To qualify for the program, sentenced individuals must fill out and submit a qualifier form within 24 hours of their sentencing. This form helps determine eligibility for the program.

By participating in these programs, inmates have the opportunity to develop new skills, improve their mental and physical health, and prepare for successful reintegration into society, ultimately contributing to a safer community and reducing the likelihood of reoffending.
