The SCCC is overseen by the Delaware Department of Corrections and consists of six community-based programs that supervise both pre-sentenced and sentenced offenders, prioritizing public safety and cost-effective alternatives to incarceration. Working in collaboration with the Department's Work Release Center, located at 23207 Dupont Blvd Georgetown, DE, and other criminal justice agencies, the division oversees thousands of offenders in the community.

The Sussex Community Corrections Center (SCCC) in Georgetown, Delaware, encompasses three Level IV (medium-security) components: 1. The Road to Recovery (R2R) Substance Abuse Treatment Program; 2. The Sussex Work Release Center; and 3. The Sussex Violation of Probation Center (SVOP)

The Road to Recovery program focuses on substance abuse treatment, while the Work Release Center assists offenders in transitioning to full-time community living by facilitating employment, medical appointments, and mandated treatment programs. Offenders return to the facility at night.

The Sussex Violation of Probation Center (SVOP) houses male and female offenders separately, primarily those who have violated probation terms without committing new crimes. SVOP operates a military-style, highly regimented program focusing on discipline, behavior modification, and community service to address probation violations.

Offenders at SVOP participate in daily community service or institutional assignments, including maintaining personal living spaces, cleaning common areas, and kitchen work. Additionally, they engage in community service projects benefiting various organizations and entities.

The program aims to help offenders adjust attitudes and behaviors to successfully adhere to probation terms upon release back to the community, thereby preventing them from returning to higher-security prison settings.
