The Eastern Arizona Regional Juvenile Detention Facility is a locally operated low to medium-security regional detention center situated at 919 West Thatcher Blvd in Safford, AZ. This facility primarily houses individuals awaiting trial or sentencing, as well as those serving shorter sentences, typically less than five years. Eastern Arizona Regional Juvenile Detention Facility accommodates detainees brought in by the Graham County Sheriff's Office, the Arizona DOC, Safford Police Department, and other nearby law enforcement agencies, including the U.S. Marshal’s Service.

New detainees arrive frequently and may be released on bail, under pretrial supervision, or on their recognizance with a commitment to appear in court. The Mission of The Eastern Arizona Regional Juvenile Detention Facility is to provide Law Enforcement agencies and the community a safe and secure facility in which to place troubled youth, which will support the juvenile’s Physical, Emotional, Educational and Social development. The E.A.R.J.D.F. believes that ALL juveniles have the right to receive Quality Treatment within a restricted environment, for their own protection or that of the community while awaiting further legal action.

Visitation Information

Visitation: The facility has two non-contact visitation rooms for parents, guardians and other approved visitors. There is also one contact visitation room for detainees to meet with their lawyer or other approved persons. There is a comfortable waiting room adjacent to the front lobby for visitors to wait while the detainee is being brought forward for a visit.
