The Fairfax Co ADC is a detention center located at 10520 Judicial Dr Fairfax, VA which is operated locally by the Fairfax County Sheriff's Office and holds inmates awaiting trial or sentencing or both. Most of the sentenced inmates are here for less than two years. Fairfax County accepts inmates from surrounding towns, Fairfax Police Department, and the US Marshal's Service.
New detainees arrive at the jail regularly, with some being released on bail, placed under pretrial services caseloads, supervised by probation agencies, or released on recognizance with a court appearance agreement. Those who are not released await their court appearances at the jail, receiving accommodations including bedding and meals.
The Sheriff's Office at the Fairfax ADC offers a diverse array of programs aimed at inmate rehabilitation and preparing them for successful reintegration into society post-release. While some programs are court-ordered, many inmates voluntarily participate in these initiatives to foster self-improvement. Education is a key focus, with literacy programs tailored to inmates of varying educational backgrounds. Inmates lacking a diploma or equivalent can access educational programs through partnerships with Fairfax County Public Schools, targeting basic literacy and life skills integration. Those aged 18-21 with an IEP can work toward their high school diploma, while others prepare for the GED exam. Spanish-speaking inmates have access to Pre-GED and GED classes in Spanish, ensuring inclusivity.
Skills development programs offer inmates opportunities to enhance employability, keyboarding, and financial planning, and engage in self-improvement courses covering responsible parenting, anger management, and understanding the impact of crime. Resource fairs, previously conducted annually, connected inmates with community resources spanning housing, employment, healthcare, education, and legal services.
The ADC library promotes learning and imagination through a lending library system, with books categorized by genre and delivered to cell blocks weekly. Religious services, including Protestant, Catholic, Korean bible study, and Islamic sessions, cater to diverse spiritual needs while maintaining order and security. Recreation opportunities include daily gym sessions for exercise and volleyball, with outdoor facilities available weather permitting.
Before the pandemic, weekly yoga classes led by experienced volunteers saw significant reductions in jail offenses among participants, highlighting the efficacy of holistic approaches to inmate well-being. Businesses supported the program by donating supplies, emphasizing its positive impact on inmate rehabilitation and behavior.

As a last resort, you might have to pay for that information if we do not have it. The Arrest Record Search will cost you a small amount, but their data is the freshest available and for that reason, they charge to access it.
VIDEO VISITING for inmates in the general population began in August 2021. Inmates who are authorized for visitation are allowed one video visit per day in 15 or 30-minute increments. The cost is 10 cents per minute for remote video visiting. There is no charge for on-site video visiting using a kiosk in the Adult Detention Center lobby.
Visits must be scheduled and paid for through Smart Communications and take place during the following hours. Visits must be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance. Otherwise, the inmate may not receive notification of the pending visit.
When the allotted time is used up, the visit will end automatically. To end a visit early, click the End Visit button. You cannot re-join a visit after clicking the End Visit button. Make sure you are in a well-lit area and there is good lighting on your face, especially if you are wearing a mask. Avoid bright areas behind you. Keep your head upright and look directly into the camera. The video feed will go blank if a face is not detected. Inmates will log into a kiosk or tablet for their visit. Once they select the visitation application, they should see their scheduled visits, if any, on the page.
Reminder: Paying for and scheduling video visits is done through Smart Communications. Please direct all questions to this vendor. Do not send a scheduling request to the Sheriff's Office. How Video Visitation Works (smartjailmail.com).
