The Federal Correctional Institution, Bennettsville (FCI Bennettsville) is a medium-security United States federal prison for male inmates in South Carolina. It is operated by the Federal Bureau of Prisons, a division of the United States Department of Justice. The facility also includes an adjacent prison camp for minimum-security male inmates. FCI Bennettsville is located in northeast South Carolina in Marlboro County on 670 acres of land and has 50 acres inside the secure perimeter fence.
There are a total of 1,670 beds available in the two facilities. The FCI currently has 1,535 Inmates that are housed in three large 500-bed housing units. Each of these dormitories contains four levels and four pods. 85 Inmates at the Camp are housed in dormitory barracks-style housing for up to 150 inmates. This is a penal camp located next to, but outside of the main medium-security prison facility located on the right-hand side of the main institution and contains the warehouse, facility maintenance, and a mechanics garage.
