The TTH of Tarpon Springs WRC (Male) in Tarpon Springs, FL, focuses on successful offender reintegration into society, crucial for effective crime control. With high recidivism rates, evidence-based practices tailor programs for medium to high-risk individuals, reducing repeat offenses. Reentry and Treatment Centers offer structured environments and various programs aiding rehabilitation and community reconnection efforts. Collaborating with the Pinellas Sheriff's Department, the Florida Department of Corrections, and sometimes the US Marshal Service/Federal Bureau of Prisons, comprehensive reentry services prioritize education, substance abuse treatment, and workforce development. Facilities assist officers in monitoring compliance and serve as alternatives to pretrial detention, considering cost-effectiveness and reducing overcrowding. Emphasizing individual needs, family support, and community integration, the center aims for holistic support, empowering successful reintegration.
The Transition House Inc. was established in 1993 by Thomas Griffin in St. Cloud, Florida, with a primary focus on providing substance abuse treatment and transitional housing for men. Initially functioning as a halfway house, our mission was to support homeless men grappling with alcohol or drug abuse issues and guide them toward becoming productive and self-sufficient members of society upon their reintegration.
As our organization evolved, we were chosen by the Veterans Administration to collaborate in addressing the rising number of homeless male veterans in Central Florida. Recognized as a partner program by the VA, we have been dedicated to serving veterans, assisting them in their journey towards recovery and improved quality of life.
In terms of inmate programs, we offer a comprehensive array of services aimed at facilitating successful re-entry into society. This includes tailored re-entry programming and planning, employment readiness initiatives, and opportunities for full-time employment within the community. Additionally, we provide substance abuse treatment, intervention, and aftercare services, with a specific focus on addressing the needs of our clients.
Other vital services offered by The Transition House Inc. encompass assistance with child support and family support payments, court-ordered obligations, adult education, and GED preparedness. Furthermore, our initiatives such as The Men’s Warehouse Clothing and Re-entry Project, along with AA/NA and other self-help programming, aim to empower individuals on their journey to rehabilitation.
In addition to our inmate programs, The Transition House Inc. extends its services to the broader Central Florida community, including the homeless population and those in need of behavioral health support in Kissimmee. Notably, we have established Victory Village, the first permanent supportive housing program in Osceola County. In partnership with the Osceola County Human Services Department, Victory Village offers one, two, or three-bedroom apartments, providing a stable and supportive environment for individuals seeking to rebuild their lives.
