The Green Lake Co Jail is a detention center located at 571 County Rd A Green Lake, WI which is operated locally by the Green Lake County Sheriff's Office and holds inmates awaiting trial or sentencing or both. Most of the sentenced inmates are here for less than two years. Green Lake County accepts inmates from surrounding towns, Green Lake Police Department, and the US Marshal's Service.

New detainees arrive at the jail regularly, with some being released on bail, placed under pretrial services caseloads, supervised by probation agencies, or released on recognizance with a court appearance agreement. Those who are not released await their court appearances at the jail, receiving accommodations including bedding and meals.

The Green Lake Correctional Facility, a 108-bed facility operational since July 2010, is dedicated to setting a high standard in corrections. The mission of the facility is to conduct comprehensive offender assessments, collaborate with local agencies to offer proactive, therapeutic, and academic programs, promote community involvement through mentorship, maintain a safe and secure environment for staff, offenders, and the public, and reduce recidivism by returning offenders to society as contributing members of their community.

Upon receiving a sentence, offenders must contact the Corrections Administration to schedule a check-in time following their Judgment of Conviction (JOC). Once set, the report date cannot be canceled or rescheduled. Failure to report to jail as scheduled is a criminal offense and may result in additional jail time as per Wisconsin Statute §946.425. The JOC specifies whether or not Huber privileges have been granted, and this decision is not at the discretion of the jail.

On the report date, offenders must report on time to the Green Lake County Correctional Facility lobby. If driving, vehicles should be parked in front of the Corrections Entrance on the south side of the building. Offenders will undergo drug and alcohol testing upon arrival, and any positive tests will result in the loss of work privileges. Required documents, fees, and work clothes should be brought along, and the Check-In Informational Packet should be fully adhered to.

The Huber packet contains detailed information on what is needed for reporting and what will be expected during the stay. The Huber Law is a privilege, not a right, and abuse of this privilege can lead to its revocation. Employers must fill out and sign a work schedule from the facility, which needs to be updated weekly and sent to the facility. Failure to comply may delay work release permissions.

Inmate requests to transfer to the Green Lake County Correctional Facility to serve an out-of-county sentence are accepted on a case-by-case basis. Transfers are allowed only if the inmate is employed within Green Lake County or the City of Ripon. Inmates requesting a transfer from Green Lake County to another county will be subject to the fees and admission requirements of the receiving county.

The Electronic Monitoring Program (EMP) at Green Lake County Jail is available to inmates who meet specific qualifications. This program allows inmates to serve their sentences outside the jail, enabling them to maintain family relationships and fulfill employment responsibilities more efficiently. To be eligible, inmates must live and work in Green Lake County. The EMP application packet provides further details, and the application must be completed and sent to the jail's mailing address. Inmates accepted into the EMP must demonstrate a serious commitment to serving their sentences cooperatively and positively. Employment requirements for EMP participants are the same as those for Huber Law inmates.
