The Hamilton County OH Juvenile Court Youth Center is within the jurisdiction of the Ohio Department of Juvenile Justice located at 2020 Auburn Ave, Cincinnati, OH.
The facility provides supervision of youth in a safe, secure and humane environment. Services for youth include education, mental health, substance abuse, and health care. Medical and mental health are contracted services. Educational services are funded by the Ohio Department of Education through local school districts.
A typical day in secure detention would involve hygiene, meals, school, structured physical and educational activities, and court appearance as scheduled. The average length of stay in secure state detention is approximately 60 days.
The Hamilton County Juvenile Court Youth Center is a 164,500 square foot, multi-story, eight-unit, sixteen pod, 160 secure bed, county detention facility that contains two Courtrooms, the Court's Psychological/Psychiatric clinic, intake complaint processing center, and a counseling center referred to as the Intervention Unit.
The Youth Center provides education through Cincinnati Public Schools, counseling by our own Hamilton County Juvenile Court Psychology Department and Intervention Unit, and medical services are contracted through Children's Hospital.
The Youth Center is accredited by the American Correctional Association, the National Commission on Correctional Health Care, and the American Association of Suicidology.
Juvenile facilities overseen by the State of Ohio do not publish the names of the offenders housed in their facility. As such, there is no public forum for this information.
Hamilton County Juvenile Court Youth Center - Visitations
Visits are seven days a week with respective unit times.
The visitation schedules are located the lobby front desk upon arrival to a juvenile's first Court hearing.
