Accepting collect calls can be expensive, sometimes exceeding $10 per call. Click here for discounts on inmate calls, especially if the communication with your inmate is frequent. It's important to remember that all phone calls are recorded, and discussing sensitive legal matters over these lines is discouraged.
While incarcerated, reading is often the best use of time. Please note that books and magazines, puzzles, and word searches ordered for inmates must come directly from the publisher. This policy ensures that the items are new, untampered, and comply with the facility's regulations. Prisons and jails enforce this rule to prevent the introduction of contraband or prohibited materials. By restricting orders to publishers, the facility can better maintain security and control over the content entering the institution. Any books or magazines not received directly from the publisher will be rejected and not delivered to the inmate. You may, however, send letters and selfies to inmates with this easy-to-use app, packages starting at only $8.00.
The EMCC, situated in northwest Illinois and overlooking the majestic Mississippi River, stands as a testament to the state's commitment to rehabilitation within a minimum security adult male facility. Converted from a mental health institution in 1980, the facility boasts a comprehensive array of buildings spanning over 430,000 square feet, including housing units, administrative quarters, and specialized units catering to healthcare and segregation needs. Enclosed within an 80-acre expanse, with 60 acres secured by fencing, the center offers a secure yet rehabilitative environment for its inhabitants.
Under the stewardship of the Chaplain's office, East Moline Correctional offers a diverse range of programs aimed at fostering spiritual growth, educational advancement, and personal development among its residents. Religious services, including Alcoholics and Narcotics Anonymous meetings and worship sessions, provide opportunities for introspection and community engagement. Additionally, tutoring and counseling services are available to support academic achievement and emotional well-being, ensuring that inmates have access to the resources needed for holistic growth and rehabilitation.
In line with the philosophy of equipping individuals with practical skills for successful reintegration into society, the facility offers vocational training in various construction disciplines, culinary arts, and custodial maintenance. Inmates also have the opportunity to participate in correctional industries, particularly in laundry services, enabling them to develop marketable skills and work experience. Academic offerings include Adult Basic Education (ABE) and General Education Development (GED) programs, empowering individuals to pursue educational goals and enhance their prospects for future success.
Complementing these educational and vocational initiatives are a range of support services aimed at addressing the multifaceted needs of the inmate population. The Incarcerated Veterans Transition Program offers specialized assistance to former service members, while health services, psychological support, and lifestyle redirection programs contribute to overall well-being and rehabilitation. Furthermore, leisure time activities, library services, and community service opportunities, such as storm and flood cleanup and festival setup, provide avenues for personal growth, community engagement, and the cultivation of a sense of responsibility and civic duty among inmates. Through its comprehensive programming and rehabilitative ethos, the East Moline Correctional Center endeavors to facilitate positive change and empower individuals to lead fulfilling and law-abiding lives upon reentry into society.
EMCC maintains a database of current inmates and their locations within the system. To locate an inmate, begin by using the DOC locator tool, which requires entering the first three letters of the inmate's first and last name, allowing for variations in spelling.
If unable to locate the desired information through free resources, users may opt to use the Arrest Record Search, which requires payment. While this option incurs a small fee, it provides access to the most up-to-date data available.
