As part of their participation in the juvenile justice reform movement, all youth at the center engage in LAMOD (the Louisiana Model for Secure Care). Developed with guidance from the Missouri Youth Services Institute (MYSI) and the Casey Strategic Consulting Group (CSCG), LAMOD is uniquely designed to address Louisiana’s distinctive environment, dynamics, and needs. This therapeutic approach fosters a supportive environment where youth and staff interact in small groups, involve family members, and promote positive peer culture. LAMOD effectively prepares youth for successful re-entry into the community as productive citizens.
Moreover, the center offers a diverse array of treatment services and programs, including but not limited to Thinking for a Change, Anger Management - Cage Your Rage, Victim Awareness Program, Substance Abuse Treatment, Healthy Masculinity, Pre-Release Preparation, Parenting, Juvenile Understanding and Managing Problematic Behavior Program (JUMP), Sexual Treatment Units, FAST Track, Mental Health Treatment Unit, and Transitional Mental Health Unit.
These comprehensive services and programs underscore the center's commitment to promoting rehabilitation, addressing behavioral issues, and addressing mental health concerns among its youth residents, thereby facilitating their successful reintegration into society.
