The Office of Administration is responsible for: providing budget, accounting, and procurement services; construction and maintenance of correctional institutions; feeding of the institutional population along with food production; managing human resources of the department; the design, development and delivery of staff training; the agency's mainframe and personal computer systems; and the department's research and data analysis. Administrative Service Centers were established to consolidate all administrative support functions for institutional and community corrections field operations. Service Centers provide further extension and local delivery of administrative services that are coordinated by individual Central Office Bureaus. This standardizes for the department's business and personnel functions within the prison system and community corrections. This system of delivering support services will enable the agency to meet its mission with fewer resources and result in cost savings to the state taxpayer.
