The Loudoun Co Jail is a detention center located at 42035 Loudoun Center Pl Leesburg, VA which is operated locally by the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office and holds inmates awaiting trial or sentencing or both. Most of the sentenced inmates are here for less than two years. Loudoun County accepts inmates from surrounding towns, Leesburg Police Department, and the US Marshal's Service.
New detainees arrive at the jail regularly, with some being released on bail, placed under pretrial services caseloads, supervised by probation agencies, or released on recognizance with a court appearance agreement. Those who are not released await their court appearances at the jail, receiving accommodations including bedding and meals.
In accordance with state code, all inmates are charged a dollar-a-day fee to offset the costs of their incarceration. Upon entry, inmates undergo a standard 48-72 hours intake period for TB/medical clearance before classification into the General Population. Those showing signs of illness after this period are transferred to a medical observation unit for further 10-day monitoring. Inmates are checked daily for symptoms and, if necessary, quarantined in negative airflow cells, albeit retaining privileges akin to the general population, including access to tablets, telephones, television, and non-contact visitation.
All inmates have access to inmate tablets for communication and receive a free 5-minute phone call weekly, starting each Monday. Additionally, mental health counseling and psychiatric visits are available to all inmates, ensuring comprehensive support and care within the facility.
