The MCSO-Towers Jail is a detention center located at 3127 W Gibson Ln Phoenix, AZ which is operated locally by the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office and holds inmates awaiting trial or sentencing or both. Most of the sentenced inmates are here for less than two years. Maricopa County accepts inmates from surrounding towns, Phoenix Police Department, and the US Marshal's Service.

New detainees arrive at the jail regularly, with some being released on bail, placed under pretrial services caseloads, supervised by probation agencies, or released on recognizance with a court appearance agreement. Those who are not released await their court appearances at the jail, receiving accommodations including bedding and meals.

The Towers Jail, established as a 360-cell facility, features six tower units, each containing four pods. These pods include general-purpose day rooms and bathroom/shower areas. The jail houses all male inmates classified as medium and minimum security, and uniquely accommodates both sentenced and non-sentenced inmates. The categories of inmate housing encompass the general population, disciplinary housing, Durango Jail-permanent no-work inmates, Durango Jail-medical no-work inmates, and Durango Jail-medical working inmates.

Equipped with a fully staffed medical clinic, a non-denominational chapel for religious services, and classrooms for educational, drug rehabilitation, and life-skills programs, Towers Jail ensures comprehensive inmate support. Additionally, three outside areas are designated for recreation. The facility has a capacity of 1,080 inmates and currently houses various classifications, including pre-trial medium classification inmates, Chain Gang inmates, fully sentenced inmates, and veteran inmates.

In late 2013, a new jail unit specifically for military veterans was introduced. This special housing aims to help veterans stay on the right track by providing a supportive environment where they can receive counseling, job training, and other services from the county and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. The veterans’ unit is decorated with red, white, and blue themes, military flags, and related adornments, fostering a sense of camaraderie and support among the inmates.

Funds can be deposited into inmate accounts using TouchPay kiosks at the facility, which accept cash and Visa/Mastercard, with funds typically posted within an hour, subject to a service fee. Deposits can also be made via telephone at 1-866-355-9593, online at TouchPay Direct, or at select retail locations listed at TouchPay Locator.

All incoming inmate mail, including newspapers, magazines, and books, must be sent to the central mailroom at the Lower Buckeye Jail, regardless of the inmate's housing location.

To ensure safety and security, all incoming mail, except legal mail, must be standard postcards between 3.5 x 4.25 inches and 4.25 x 6 inches, written in blue or black ink, and free of defacements or alterations. Unacceptable postcards include those with plastic wrappings or depictions of nudity, weapons, criminal activity, or gang references. All books and subscription publications must be softback and purchased directly from a publisher.

Inmates are released at the ITR Facility and directed to the public parking lot at the corner of Gibson and 28th Drive for pickup. Unauthorized vehicles are not permitted near the main lobby of the ITR building at the Durango Detention Center. Inmates can place collect calls to notify contacts of their pending release. Updated inmate information is available via the "Inmate Information" link on the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office website.
