The Newark Center (NRRSC) located at 224 Sussex Ave Newark, NJ, focuses on successful offender reintegration into society, crucial for effective crime control. With high recidivism rates, evidence-based practices tailor programs for medium to high-risk individuals, reducing repeat offenses. Reentry and Treatment Centers offer structured environments and various programs aiding rehabilitation and community reconnection efforts. Collaborating with the Essex Sheriff's Department, the New Jersey Department of Corrections, and sometimes the US Marshal Service/Federal Bureau of Prisons, comprehensive reentry services prioritize education, substance abuse treatment, and workforce development. Facilities assist officers in monitoring compliance and serve as alternatives to pretrial detention, considering cost-effectiveness and reducing overcrowding. Emphasizing individual needs, family support, and community integration, the center aims for holistic support, empowering successful reintegration.

BACKGROUND
The Reentry Services Newark Residential Reentry Services Center (NRRSC) provides comprehensive, evidence-based reentry services to offenders referred to the program.
SCOPE OF WORK:
The NRRSC provides services to medium and high-risk offenders assigned to the facility in two separate and distinct program tracks – Stages to Enhance Parolee Supervision and the Reentry Substance Abuse Program. In addition to the two parole programs, the facility also offers ISP and Transitional Housing. Residential Reentry Centers provide services seven days a week offering structure and flexibility to meet participant risks and needs and agency goals. Reentry’s evidence-based practices program directly addresses the criminogenic needs of referred participants. Our residential program can also integrate with electronic monitoring and home detention.
SERVICE:
Programs and services currently offered at Newark Reentry Center include, Moral Reconation Therapy (MRT), life/transitional skills, substance abuse education and therapy, anger/stress management, family/parenting skills, employment readiness, budget/financial skills, domestic violence therapy and prevention, Thinking For Change (T4C) program, and Individual Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
FACILITY DESCRIPTION:
The NRRSC provides residential programming with on-site administrative and parole offices. Each floor operates as an independent unit with treatment and recreational space.
