The Nez Perce Co Jail is a detention center located at 1150 Wall St Lewiston, ID which is operated locally by the Nez Perce County Sheriff's Office and holds inmates awaiting trial or sentencing or both. Most of the sentenced inmates are here for less than two years. Nez Perce County accepts inmates from surrounding towns, Lewiston Police Department, and the US Marshal's Service.

New detainees arrive at the jail regularly, with some being released on bail, placed under pretrial services caseloads, supervised by probation agencies, or released on recognizance with a court appearance agreement. Those who are not released await their court appearances at the jail, receiving accommodations including bedding and meals.

  • Inmates have access to a telephone to make outgoing collect calls only or may purchase telephone calling cards. If you call the Adult Detention Center, you will not be able to converse with an inmate.
  • No materials (i.e., books, clothing, food items, etc.) may be brought into the facility for prisoners.

Picture identification is required for anyone visiting the Adult Detention Center or prisoners. Any juvenile coming to visit an inmate must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian. Keep conversation to a minimum while waiting for visitation. Turn off all cell phones.
