Communication is important, the prison offers a phone program for outbound calls only, with inmates unable to receive incoming calls. Accepting collect calls can be expensive, sometimes exceeding $10 per call. Click here for discounts on inmate calls, especially if the communication with your inmate is frequent. It's important to remember that all phone calls are recorded, and discussing sensitive legal matters over these lines is discouraged.

While incarcerated, reading is often the best use of time. Please note that books and magazines, puzzles, and word searches ordered for inmates must come directly from the publisher. This policy ensures that the items are new, untampered, and comply with the facility's regulations. Prisons and jails enforce this rule to prevent the introduction of contraband or prohibited materials. By restricting orders to publishers, the facility can better maintain security and control over the content entering the institution. Any books or magazines not received directly from the publisher will be rejected and not delivered to the inmate. You may, however, send letters and selfies to inmates with this easy-to-use app, packages starting at only $8.00.

The Hudson Correctional Facility, situated in Columbia County, is a medium-security prison primarily housing adult males, with a capacity of 400 inmates. Alongside its standard housing units, the facility boasts a 40-bed re-entry unit focused on preparing inmates for their eventual release. Inmates in this unit are given opportunities to develop new job skills and cultivate positive work habits through participation in the Industrial Training Program facilitated by Correctional Industries.

In addition to the Industrial Training Program, Hudson CF offers various vocational programs aimed at equipping inmates with practical skills for reintegration into society. These programs cover areas such as horticulture, business, and small engine repair, providing inmates with valuable training and educational opportunities to enhance their employability upon release.

Recognizing the importance of addressing substance abuse and alcohol addiction issues among inmates, Hudson Correctional Facility also offers comprehensive treatment programs for offenders struggling with addiction. Through these programs, inmates receive support and guidance to overcome substance abuse challenges, promoting their rehabilitation and successful reentry into the community.

Overall, Hudson Correctional Facility not only focuses on custody and security but also places a strong emphasis on rehabilitation and reintegration. By providing inmates with access to vocational training, substance abuse treatment, and re-entry preparation programs, the facility aims to empower individuals to make positive changes in their lives and become productive members of society upon release.
