The Sauk Co Jail is a detention center located at 1300 Lange Ct Baraboo, WI which is operated locally by the Sauk County Sheriff's Office and holds inmates awaiting trial or sentencing or both. Most of the sentenced inmates are here for less than two years. Sauk County accepts inmates from surrounding towns, Baraboo Police Department, and the US Marshal's Service.

New detainees arrive at the jail regularly, with some being released on bail, placed under pretrial services caseloads, supervised by probation agencies, or released on recognizance with a court appearance agreement. Those who are not released await their court appearances at the jail, receiving accommodations including bedding and meals.

The Sauk County Sheriff's Department celebrated the inauguration of its new Law Enforcement Center on May 12, 2003, this expansive facility, measuring 145,000 square feet, merges the department's administrative offices with a modern jail and Huber Center, accommodating a total of 463 beds.

The jail's construction primarily involved assembling precast concrete cells into six housing "pods," each containing 24 cells. In addition to these pods, the facility includes two dormitory-style units each with 48 beds, which supplement the existing 96-bed capacity of the Huber Center. With the exception of maximum security cells and several units designed for handicapped accessibility, most cells are configured to house two inmates each. Currently, two of the six pods are unoccupied, reserved for future increases in inmate numbers.

The security operations are managed by a jail captain, six first-line supervisors, 56 division deputies, two administrative assistants, and nine clerks. Medical services for inmates are provided by Advanced Correctional Healthcare (ACH), a contracted inmate healthcare provider. Additionally, an electronic bracelet system allows for the off-site monitoring of up to 24 inmates by a designated deputy. The facility is equipped with a state-of-the-art electronic security system and closed-circuit television, ensuring comprehensive surveillance and control over all movements within and around the building.
