The Threshold (THRESH) located at 1702 St. Paul St Baltimore, MD, focuses on successful offender reintegration into society, crucial for effective crime control. With high recidivism rates, evidence-based practices tailor programs for medium to high-risk individuals, reducing repeat offenses. Reentry and Treatment Centers offer structured environments and various programs aiding rehabilitation and community reconnection efforts. Collaborating with the Baltimore Sheriff's Department, the Maryland Department of Corrections, and sometimes the US Marshal Service/Federal Bureau of Prisons, comprehensive reentry services prioritize education, substance abuse treatment, and workforce development. Facilities assist officers in monitoring compliance and serve as alternatives to pretrial detention, considering cost-effectiveness and reducing overcrowding. Emphasizing individual needs, family support, and community integration, the center aims for holistic support, empowering successful reintegration.
The Threshold Program is a faith-based reentry initiative that operates on a non-residential basis and is accessible to both men and women. It shares similarities with the Life Connections Program but is less intensive. Individuals, regardless of their religious affiliation, are welcome to join the program, which aims to instill positive values and a sense of responsibility.
Applicants for the Threshold Program generally should have less than 24 months remaining until their release dates. The program's curriculum is flexible and caters to participants who prefer a non-religious approach. Typically, cohorts convene weekly for 90-minute sessions over a span of 6 to 9 months, with each cohort accommodating a maximum of 20 participants.
