The Warren Prison is a detention center located at 407 Market St Warren, PA which is operated locally by the Warren County Sheriff's Office and holds inmates awaiting trial or sentencing or both. Most of the sentenced inmates are here for less than two years. Warren County accepts inmates from surrounding towns, Warren Police Department, and the US Marshal's Service.

New detainees arrive at the jail regularly, with some being released on bail, placed under pretrial services caseloads, supervised by probation agencies, or released on recognizance with a court appearance agreement. Those who are not released await their court appearances at the jail, receiving accommodations including bedding and meals.

The facility is committed to ensuring the efficient and cost-effective management of the prison while fostering a positive atmosphere through the professional training and conduct of its staff.

Rehabilitation and Reentry Focus
A core goal of the Warren County Prison is to reintegrate inmates into the community in a better condition than when they arrived. This is achieved through proper inmate classification and the implementation of rehabilitative programming that addresses individual needs. Inmates are provided with clear guidance regarding their responsibilities and are held accountable for their actions, with positive reinforcement for compliance and progress. This approach encourages personal growth and prepares inmates for successful reentry into society.

Professionalism and Community Engagement
The prison prides itself on maintaining a high standard of professionalism in its interactions with other agencies and volunteer groups, encouraging and supporting efforts that have a positive impact on the inmate population. By fostering partnerships with community organizations and promoting crime prevention initiatives, Warren County Prison aims to contribute to broader community safety.

Through these combined efforts, the Warren County Prison not only fulfills its custodial duties but also strives to play an active role in reducing recidivism and enhancing public safety. The facility's focus on rehabilitation, accountability, and professional conduct ensures that it operates as a model institution committed to the well-being of both its inmates and the community.

Connect with your Inmate

The jail offers a phone program for outbound calls only, with inmates unable to receive incoming calls. Accepting collect calls can be expensive, sometimes exceeding $10 per call. Alternatively, setting up an account through a third-party phone company may entail high fees per minute of usage. Click here for discounts on inmate calls, especially if the communication with your inmate is frequent. It's important to remember that all phone calls are recorded, and discussing sensitive legal matters over these lines is discouraged.

Books and magazines ordered for inmates must come directly from the publisher. This policy ensures that the items are new, untampered, and comply with the facility's regulations. The Jail enforces this rule to prevent the introduction of contraband or prohibited materials. By restricting orders to publishers, the facility can better maintain security and control over the content entering the institution. Any books or magazines not received directly from the publisher will be rejected and not delivered to the inmate. You may, however, send letters and selfies to inmates with this easy-to-use app, packages starting at only $8.00.

Inmate workers are chosen based on conduct and cooperation with staff. Participation in the community service program can sometimes reduce sentences. Commissary is available weekly, with orders submitted via kiosk two days in advance. On holidays, there may be increased spending limits. Upon receiving commissary items, inmates must present their ID, check their order, and sign for it in the presence of the commissary employee. Indigent inmates are provided with all essential basic hygiene items including USPS stamps and writing materials.

Visitation Rules at Warren County Prison

Visitation at the Warren County Prison is strictly regulated to ensure security and order within the facility. All visitors must be on the inmate's approved visitor list, and no exceptions will be made. Visitors are expected to arrive and register at least ten minutes before the scheduled visit to avoid any delays or forfeiture of the visit.

Visiting days and hours are determined by the housing unit and cell in which the inmate is located, and visitors must adhere to the specific schedule provided. Upon arrival, all visitors will be required to show valid photo identification. Any visitor under the age of eighteen must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian and must be the inmate’s child, stepchild, or grandchild. All visitors are expected to supervise their children at all times while on the premises.

Visitors must conduct themselves in an orderly manner and refrain from taking pictures, smoking, using foul or abusive language, or bringing contraband, such as cell phones, into the facility. Inappropriate behavior or language will result in the termination of the visit and could lead to a temporary or permanent ban on visiting privileges. Visitors are required to dress appropriately, and correctional staff will have the final discretion on what constitutes appropriate attire. In the event of an emergency, visits may be terminated, and visitors will be directed to leave the premises.

Former inmates must wait one full year after their release before they can visit others incarcerated at the facility. Additionally, visitors suspected of bringing contraband into the facility may be subjected to a pat-down search by law enforcement personnel.
