Books and magazines ordered for inmates must come directly from the publisher. This policy ensures that the items are new, untampered, and comply with the facility's regulations. The Jail enforces this rule to prevent the introduction of contraband or prohibited materials. By restricting orders to publishers, the facility can better maintain security and control over the content entering the institution. Any books or magazines not received directly from the publisher will be rejected and not delivered to the inmate. Inmate workers are chosen based on conduct and cooperation with staff. Participation in the community service program can sometimes reduce sentences. Commissary is available weekly, with orders submitted via kiosk two days in advance. On holidays, there may be increased spending limits. Upon receiving commissary items, inmates must present their ID, check their order, and sign for it in the presence of the commissary employee. Indigent inmates receive all essential basic hygiene items including USPS stamps and writing materials.

Visitation Information

Visitors wishing to schedule an onsite, face-to-face visit must first create an account through ICSolutions. For more detailed instructions on scheduling, visitors can access this link. Once an account is created, it must be approved by facility staff before any visits can be scheduled. Visits can be scheduled up to two weeks in advance but no later than 24 hours before the visit. Generally, family, friends, and legal or religious counsel are allowed. However, individuals deemed to hinder the inmate's rehabilitation, such as those on probation or parole, disruptive individuals, or those with no legitimate purpose for visiting, will not be admitted.

Visitors must arrive before 11:00 a.m., 4:00 p.m., or 7:30 p.m. to ensure they receive their half-hour visit. Inmates are allowed two 30-minute visits per week, which may be combined into one 60-minute visit at the inmate's request and the discretion of the facility staff. All visitors must appear on the approved list and provide valid photo identification, including a driver’s license or government-issued ID for adults over 16. No personal items are permitted inside the facility, and visitors must store their belongings in provided lockers. Outer garments like jackets or hats are also not allowed. The facility is not responsible for lost or stolen items, so visitors are encouraged to leave valuables at home.

All visitors and their possessions are subject to search. Any prohibited items, including weapons, are strictly forbidden. Law enforcement visitors must secure their weapons in the designated lockers. Visitors must pass through a metal detector without triggering any alarms, or they may be subject to additional screening. Minors under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, and unruly children will result in the termination of the visit.

ICSolutions also offers video visitation, which must be scheduled at least 24 hours before. Offsite video visits are available, though currently not supported on iPhones. All visits are monitored and recorded, and violations of visitation rules can lead to the suspension of privileges. Attorneys must contact the facility after creating an ICSolutions account to request confidential, unmonitored visits.

Visitors cannot bring money orders, certified checks, or reading materials into the facility. Inmate property release requests are rarely granted, typically only in emergencies, and are handled on a case-by-case basis during specific hours. Visitor behavior must always remain orderly, and disruptive behavior may result in revoked visitation rights. Communicating with inmates outside of the designated visiting areas is strictly prohibited.
