The Waukesha Huber Center is a detention center located at 1400 Northview Rd Waukesha, WI which is operated locally by the Waukesha County Sheriff's Office and holds inmates awaiting trial or sentencing or both. Most of the sentenced inmates are here for less than two years. Waukesha County accepts inmates from surrounding towns, Waukesha Police Department, and the US Marshal's Service.

New detainees arrive at the jail regularly, with some being released on bail, placed under pretrial services caseloads, supervised by probation agencies, or released on recognizance with a court appearance agreement. Those who are not released await their court appearances at the jail, receiving accommodations including bedding and meals.

You can see all the arrest records for Wisconsin here.

The Waukesha County Huber Facility is prepared to accept transfer inmates who have been granted Huber privileges by their original sentencing court. However, transfers are dependent on available bed space, and if no space is available, the transfer request will be denied. Inmates without Huber privileges are not accepted as transfers. To initiate a transfer, the inmate must first report to the sentencing county jail, which will then communicate with the Waukesha County Huber Facility. A $50.00 transfer fee is required from all inmates requesting a transfer, in addition to any advance Huber board fees that may apply.

Inmates at the Waukesha County Huber Facility are allowed to bring certain personal items, which include basic hygiene products like a comb, a hairbrush, a nail clipper without a file, and a shaving razor with a reasonable number of blades. Dental floss is prohibited, but inmates may purchase toothpaste, shaving cream, and shampoo from vending machines. Each inmate may also have one battery-operated or wind-up alarm clock in its original sealed package, religious texts such as a Bible or Koran, educational materials including textbooks and calculators (with supervisor approval), and paper products like folders and notebooks without spiral bindings or metal clips. Personal mail, including magazines, newspapers, and photographs that do not contain nudity or sexual acts, is permitted in reasonable amounts. Inmates may also possess one pair of contact lenses with an unopened saline solution and a case, and a combination padlock for their outerwear locker.

Regarding financial regulations, inmates may carry up to $15.00 in U.S. currency, with an additional $50.00 allowed in their outerwear locker. Clothing requirements specify that inmates wear plain, logo-free items in specified colors, including t-shirts, underwear, and socks. Male and female inmates have similar clothing guidelines, with specific requirements for undergarments such as brassieres for female inmates, which must not have under-wires or padding.

Inmates are expected to bring a personal combination lock of the standard school-use type to secure their locker, where street clothes are stored upon intake. The facility also offers locks for sale. Regarding reading materials, all magazines and newspapers must be delivered directly from the publisher under a subscription agreement. The only permitted jewelry is a plain wedding band without stones.

For personal vehicles, inmates using their own transportation must park in the designated main parking lot of the Huber Facility and register their vehicles to obtain a required parking permit, which is visible from outside the vehicle. A fee is associated with this permit, and bicycles must be stored in the designated racks.

Employment verification is a critical step for inmates granted Huber release privileges. Upon intake, inmates must fill out an Employment Verification Form. Facility staff verify employment details using phone directories or the internet. Employers not listed in these directories must provide written proof of their business legitimacy. Inmates are not permitted to begin work-release activities until their employment has been verified, which might delay their initial release for work, especially depending on when they are processed and the availability of business personnel for verification. Inmates are strictly prohibited from being employed by or supervised by current inmates or those who have been released within the last six months. Employment within a family-operated business during incarceration is reviewed and approved on a case-by-case basis.
