The Welch Police Department, located at 201 W South St Welsh, LA, serves as the primary law enforcement agency for the community, ensuring public safety through crime prevention, investigation, and emergency response. While the department processes individuals who have been arrested, it does not maintain holding cells for extended detention. After the booking process, which includes fingerprinting, photographing, and processing necessary documentation, arrestees are promptly transferred to a nearby county or regional jail for housing.
