The West Texas Detention Facility (WTDF) stands as a medium-security prison, privately operated, accommodating both male and female pretrial detainees, boasting a total capacity of 1,053 beds. This facility serves as a partner with the United States Marshal Service and other entities in housing inmates.
Inmate Programs at WTDF are comprehensive and diverse. The new Program Management at WTDF focuses on providing educational opportunities such as GED classes, developing employability skills, and offering substance abuse programs like AA Substance Programs, Cage of Rage Programs, and Courage to Heal Programs. Additionally, inmates have access to Free Legal Advice programs and various religious community services, including Christmas Celebration Mass.

Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT): CBT addresses emotional, psychological, and cognitive disorders through behavior modifications, impacting decision-making and altering detrimental patterns of thought. It is effective in treating various disorders, including substance abuse, mood disorders, and anxiety disorders.
3. Family Reunification: Programming focuses on strengthening family support networks, offering resources such as regular visitation, family counseling, parenting skills, and services for the well-being of children with offender parents.
4. Victim Awareness: Enhances offenders' comprehension of the impact of crime on the community, particularly on victims, through resources like victim panels, group discussion, and statistical information.

A notable example of a successful treatment program is the STAR Long-Term Program at Richwood Correctional Center, offering year-long substance abuse treatment. The program, licensed through Louisiana's Department of Health and Hospitals, provides comprehensive services based on individualized treatment plans, including addictions counseling, mental health counseling, and anger management.
