Communication is important, the prison offers a phone program for outbound calls only, with inmates unable to receive incoming calls. Accepting collect calls can be expensive, sometimes exceeding $10 per call. Click here for discounts on inmate calls, especially if the communication with your inmate is frequent. It's important to remember that all phone calls are recorded, and discussing sensitive legal matters over these lines is discouraged.

While incarcerated, reading is often the best use of time. Please note that books and magazines, puzzles, and word searches ordered for inmates must come directly from the publisher. This policy ensures that the items are new, untampered, and comply with the facility's regulations. Prisons and jails enforce this rule to prevent the introduction of contraband or prohibited materials. By restricting orders to publishers, the facility can better maintain security and control over the content entering the institution. Any books or magazines not received directly from the publisher will be rejected and not delivered to the inmate. You may, however, send letters and selfies to inmates with this easy-to-use app, packages starting at only $8.00.

Redgranite Correctional Institution (RGCI) serves as a medium-security facility for male offenders, located in Waushara County, Wisconsin. With a capacity to house approximately 1,030 inmates, RGCI prioritizes safety and security, employing advanced measures such as razor ribbon security fences, shock/knock-down electrical technology, armed guard posts, perimeter patrol vehicles, electronic detection systems, and security cameras.

The institution offers a range of educational opportunities, including adult basic education, GED testing, and correspondence courses. Vocational training in baking, Microsoft Office, and computer skills is also available. Through the Badger State Industries Program, inmates can participate in electronics and wheelchair recycling operations, maintenance work, and vegetable gardening, fostering skill development and contributing to facility operations.

Various programs are provided to address inmates' cognitive and behavioral needs, such as substance abuse treatment, sex offender treatment, mental health services, re-entry assistance, domestic violence programs, grief recovery groups, anger management, parenting classes, and cognitive intervention. These initiatives aim to prepare inmates for successful reintegration into society, promoting positive behavioral changes and reducing recidivism rates.

Groundbreaking for RGCI occurred on June 18, 1999, with the first inmates received on January 8, 2001. Spanning 89 acres of land, including 22 acres within the secure perimeter, RGCI features a robust infrastructure consisting of high-security fences.

Inmates at RGCI also have access to electronic messaging services through the CorrLinks system, facilitating communication with friends and family. Messages are reviewed for appropriateness and incur a nominal fee per message. Inmates must initiate contact requests, which recipients can accept, decline, or block. While access to kiosks may vary across facilities, CorrLinks provides a secure and monitored platform for communication.

Through a combination of educational, vocational, and rehabilitative programs, RGCI endeavors to promote positive change, equip inmates with essential skills, and facilitate their successful reintegration into the community upon release.
