Visitation Hours

Visiting hours for NCF are subject to change, so it's crucial to confirm them by contacting the facility directly by phone. Please reach out to 641-792-7552, on visitation procedures, applications, or directions to the facility in Newton. Please note that visitors will undergo a thorough search before entering the premises, and personal belongings, including cell phones, are strictly prohibited. Individuals under probation, parole, or community corrections supervision must obtain approval from their supervising officer and the superintendent before visiting, although such visits are not typically approved.

NCF In-Person Visiting:

Saturday and Sunday 8:00 am to 3:30 pm (by reservation in Ameelio App) as follows:

  • 8am-10am
  • 10:45am-12:45pm
  • 1:30pm-3:30pm

NCF Video Visiting:

Friday and Monday 8:00 am to 8:00 pm (Ameelio App only)

Saturday and Sunday 8:00 am to 3:00 pm (Ameelio App only)

CRC In-Person Visiting:

Saturday and Sunday 8:00 am to 3:30 pm (by reservation in Ameelio App)

CRC Video Visiting:

Effective 10.27.2023, video visiting times on Fridays and Mondays at CRC will be as
follows: 2:30 pm, 3:30 pm, 4:30 pm, 5:30 pm, 6:30 pm and 7:30 pm

In order to schedule an in-person visit or video call, all visitors must use the Ameelio Connect app.

All visitors 13 years and older will need to create an Ameelio Connect account after being approved by the DOC to visit.

  • Ameelio Connect is only available on iPhones, iPads, and Android Phones.
  • Ameelio Connect is not currently available on computers or laptops.

*If you are an approved Attorney, you may contact the prison directly to manually schedule an in-person visit. To schedule please call Lorna Marter, 641.841.7027, Monday through Friday between 8:00 am and 2:00 pm CDT.

Reminder: Per Department visitation policy, all visitors upon entrance to the institutions shall be subject to search. Security and contraband control are critical operational requirements, necessitating a search of all visitors by trained correctional staff. Searches may include, but are not limited to, a pat down, metal detectors, electronic ion scanners, other electronic devices, or visual searches. If visitors refuse to comply with the Department visitation policy, entrance to the visiting room will be denied.
