Suwannee Co Jail Visitation Center

The Suwannee County Jail emphasizes the importance of maintaining ties with family and friends through its visitation program. To ensure a safe and orderly environment, visitors are required to follow specific rules and procedures to avoid having their visitation privileges denied, terminated, or suspended.

Visitation Schedule and Hours:
Visitation is organized by inmate housing assignments, with designated days for specific groups:

• Monday: AA (Male), A (Female)
• Tuesday: CC (Male), D (Max), B (Female)
• Wednesday: BB (Male), E (Max), Medical
• Thursday: DD (Male), F (Max), C (Juvenile)
• Friday: EE (Male)
• Saturday: Work Crew

Visitation hours are 1:00 PM–3:00 PM, 3:00 PM–5:00 PM, and 7:00 PM–9:00 PM. Visitors must sign in during the designated periods: 1:00–1:15 PM, 3:00–3:15 PM, or 7:00–7:15 PM. Late arrivals will not be permitted to visit, and each visitor is allowed only one visitation period per day.

Visitor Sign-In:
Visitors must check in at the jail lobby during the appropriate sign-in time and present a valid photo ID. Only visitors aged 18 or older are permitted. Children are not allowed to remain unattended in the lobby, vehicles, or elsewhere on the premises. Personal belongings, including purses, cell phones, food, drinks, or tobacco products, are prohibited in the visitation area. Visitors may bring only car keys and photo ID, with all other items left at home or secured in their vehicles.

Scheduling a Visit:
Visits must be scheduled on the same day as the inmate's visitation by calling 386-364-3418 between 8:00 AM and 11:30 AM. For inmates with Saturday trustee visitation, appointments must be made on the preceding Friday during the same hours.

Visitor Dress Code:
Appropriate attire is required for all visitors. Revealing clothing, such as short-shorts, mini-skirts, tube tops, or spaghetti straps, is prohibited. Visitors not adhering to the dress code will be denied entry.

Visitation Rules:
Inmates may list up to four approved visitors aged 18 or older. Inmates are allowed one name change to their visitation list, which must be requested in writing. Changes beyond this require approval from a lieutenant or higher-ranking officer. Each inmate is allowed one two-hour visitation period per week, and all approved visitors must attend together during the scheduled time. Visitors cannot switch out or leave the visitation area except for restroom use. Visitors under the influence of drugs or alcohol will be denied entry and removed from the inmate's visitation list. The introduction of contraband is a third-degree felony, and all visitors are subject to search. Violation of these rules may result in the termination of visitation privileges.

Special Visits:
Special visits may be approved for individuals traveling 75 miles or more, provided the inmate submits a written request in advance. These visits allow up to two visitors who do not need to be on the inmate’s approved visitation list. Approval is at the discretion of the Jail Administrator and requires verification of the visitor’s address. Special visits are permitted once, must be pre-approved, and will not be scheduled on holidays. Visitors arriving without prior approval will be denied entry.

Visiting Inmates at Suwannee County Jail

All Visitors are subject to search once inside the facility.

The public may visit no more than one time per week, Monday through Saturday at this Live Oak FL location. Visitors must sign inat least 15 minutes before their scheduled visits. If you schedule a visit and don't show up or show up late, you will not be allowed to visit the rest of that week, including Saturday. If a visit on Saturday is scheduled, and the visitor does not show up or shows up late, they will not be allowed to visit until the following Saturday. Repeated late arrival or no-show violations may result in longer suspension of visiting privileges. Inmates are allowed no more than one (1) visit per day. Visitors under the age of 18 must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian, unless they are visiting a parent. Unaccompanied minors (under age 18) visiting a parent must present a copy of their birth certificate. Children must remain with the parent at all times during the visit. All visitors must have acceptable identification. This includes a drivers license with picture identification, military ID, or other verifiable picture ID. Three (3) pieces of non-picture ID may substitute for picture ID.

No mail or messages for inmates will be accepted. Mail must go through the U.S. Mail. Visitors may only visit the inmate they have signed up to visit. Any visitor who appears to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs will not be permitted to visit. Inappropriate behavior, including the use of profanity, will not be permitted. No weapons will be permitted. All other items listed in the jail lobby are prohibited. There is a maximum of four (4) visitors per booth, including children, and the door must remain closed.

All visitors must wear appropriate clothing, including shoes and shirts. Restrictions on attire or appearance include: No miniskirts or similar attire; no low-cut or revealing necklines; no attire with obscene or offensive language; and no persons with a bare midriff will be permitted to visit. Visitors cannot bring items into the visiting area including weapons of any kind, purses, handbags, backpacks, diaper bags, food, drink, gum, baby bottles, pictures, books, toys, writing utensils, strollers or carriers, cell phones, cameras, or any other electronic devices.

Violation of the above restrictions may cause the visit to be cancelled or terminated, and visiting privileges may be suspended by the Suwannee Sheriffs Department. The on-duty supervisor may cancel visits without notice due to circumstances within the jail.
