My mother is currently in jail and we are not on speaking terms at the moment, but still being worried about her I heard that when in jail the inmate is still responsible for paying for their medications that they need....is this true

In some places there is a small payment required for seeing the doctor or dentist. If the inmate does not have funds in their account but need medical care they are taken care of. Indigent inmates are given the same treatment as inmates who can pay a $5.00 surcharge.
