Answers From Ask The Inmate
Q: I know there is no way to verify that recipient received a letter sent thru inmateaid, but is there a way to know if the letter at least made it to the prison?
Q: What do inmates like to receive in letters?
Q: How will I know if my letter was returned?
Q: okay, sorry if I'm a nuisance. So if my letter is not returned, my inmate likely got it? This is a strange situation, so I am curious. I found out after the fact that my inmate is under special conditions called SAMS. Supposedly he cannot receive correspondence from anyone except those approved on his mailing list, which I am not currently on. (IT is inhumane and I am currently fighting to change these torturous laws.) What are your thoughts? I will continue writing him regardless bc i want it made clear that i will not give up. But I really hope my letters are not simply being thrown away. I have been in contact with the prison though I do not trust them and also they take forever to respond. I hope he is at least receiving my letters even if he is not allowed to respond. Thank you guys for your help, this is a wonderful service.
Q: Thank you for answering, it means a lot! So my next question regarding SAMs is... Since my letters so far have not been sent back, what do you think happened to them? I will continue to use this service regardless bc I want them to know I am adamant and do not intend to give up. I am also currently advocating and writing legislature about SAMs bc this law defies civil rights. It is an abomination of human rights. Thanks again for your help, you have been awesome!
Q: Are we allowed to call the prison to ask if inmate has received books or letters?
Q: Thank you SO much for the info. This is a superb service and you guys are exceptional. Good work! Sorry for nagging but do you personally think they really are decoding my letters? So strange, there's nothing harmful in my words lol. Also do you know is it legal for them to take my letters without my knowledge? And to not at least send back with a reason? I will take legal action if so...
